The seventh round of the FIM Motocross World Championship took place in Italy, on the track of Maggiora about 1 hour of Milan. Last season, the legendary track “Maggiora Park” made its return to the MXGP calendar, after they had to close the doors in late 2016. The hillside track in the north of Italy has a rich history. The first GP was held here in 1966 and hosted 10 gp’s in total since the first GP and one FIM Motocross of Nations in 2016. We saw a very strong Jeremy on the factory Beta 450 RX setting the fourth fastest time in time practice. In the qualifying race he started well, and with a perfect race pace he ended in 8th position.
We had a lot of rain during the night between saturday and sunday, what made the track in Maggiora very slippery and tricky. Despite this our Belgian rider setting down an excellent performance in the first race. Thanks to a good start and his perseverance he ended in a 7th position. Also in the second race we saw a strong and alert Van Horebeek on the teacherous and tricky track, starting in the top 10 and riding in 7th place the most of the race and only in the last 2 laps he lost 2 positions due his physical condition and ending 9th. Jeremy was sick the whole week what weakened him. He closed the GP in a 8th position and stands 8the in the FIM Motocross world championship. Next weekend we have the 8th round in Sardinia.
Jeremy van Horebeek: “P7 and P9 for 8th overall after being sick all week with no training I will take this result ! Wish I could do more but it seem’s that I’m stuck between p7 and p10 … off to Sardinië now and try to recover because the tank is empty now 😅 thanks @sdm_corse_official@betamotor1905“
