Last weekend we had a very new venue for the 12th round of the FIM Motocross World Championship. Lacapelle Marival had the honour to host a Grand Prix race for the very first time. Way back in 2009 and 2011 it has previously hosted the MX3 and Women’s Motocross World Championship rounds, and most of the riders known the French circuit for the pre-season international ‘The Masters of Motocross’.
During time practice, jerre was immediately in the right rhythm on the hard and very technical circuit of Lacapelle Marival and set a great 5th time, his best performance of the season so far. This 5th position gave him a favorable starting position for the races.
We saw that at the start of the first race, Jerre dived into the first corner in 5th place and immediately found the right rhythm on his factory Beta 450 RX. Our Belgian Beta factory rider managed to hold on to this position for most of the race but with only 2 minutes left on the clock, he made an awful crash that forced him to retire.
Jeremy and the team decided to start the second race anyway, despite his violent crash in the first race and not at 100% of his physical condition. After a good start and perseverance, he could hold his pace and rhythum and obtained an incredible 9th position. He ended 16th overall and stay 14th n the World Championship standings. See you all in a week @ Spain for the 12th round….
