Finally we are back in racing, so this weekend the FIM Motocross World Championship started in Russia, more specifically in Orlyonok. Located near the beautifull black see in the south of Russia. After missing out on a Grand Prix in Russia last season due to COVID-19, MXGP will return to the hilly hardpack circuit for the first time since 2019, which will also be the fourth time that the FIM Motocross World Champion will take place in Orlyonok. It was also the return of Beta in the FIM Motocross World Championship.
Sunday morning The Jerre rode his factory Beta 450 RX to a 18th position in time practice. Under a bright sun our factory rider came out of the start in the first race around a 20th position after a little hold up due a crash in the first turn. After a few laps on the hard and slippery track, the Belgian was allready in 14th position and ended the race in 11th. Also in the start of the second race he was held up in the first corner after a crash. But despite this he was 15th in the first lap. He showed his speed on the new factory Beta 450 RX and ended the second race in 11th place. Both 11th places in the races brings him to a 9th overall and first Belgian in the GP, this result is the best he ever had on the track in Orlyonok. Looking forward to the British GP in two weeks.
Jeremy Van Horebeek; “A 9th place overall in the gp is incredible, if you know there wasn’t even a bike seven months ago, and in this short time we made this happen, it’s unbelievable. Big thanks to the Beta factrory and the SDM crew for all the work they’ve done. I’m really happy about my riding today, i struggle at some parts on the track, and we gonna find out why and work on it.”
