MXGP Riga

Today we had the second GP of a trio in Latvian World Motocross Championship races. The “MXGP of Riga” is named after the capital city Riga and only 50km away from Kegums. They made e few changes on the tricky and sandy track “Zelta Zirgs”. On Sunday Jerre already showed that he has the speed, and we saw that also today in this midweek race.

Due his ninth time in time practice, he went as 9th to the startgate. Our SR Honda Motoblouz rider showed immediatly his fightning spirit by powering his CRF450R into second place for 13 of the 17 laps. Unfortunately, he was unable to hold the high pace during the whole race and suffered with arm pump, but still finished in a fifth place. Race two was more a battle in the midpack for our Belgian rider, and finishing the race in 14th what resulted in a 9th overall the highest placed Honda in the MXGP class today.

Jeremy Van Horebeek; ” I had a good start in the first race and I had the pace to race at the front but I suffered some arm pump in the end, finished in fifth which was good. In the second moto I was way deep in the pack on lap one and tried to come back through, but I had low energy and struggled to find good lines but we’ll keep working hard. The MXGP level is really high but 9th overall is not so bad.”
