Round two of the 2020 FIM Motocross World Championship was held this weekend in the deep sand of Valkenswaard. The historic Valkenswaard Eurocircuit has been present on the MXGP calendar for almost every year since 1992. On saturday the practice and qualification was run in cloudy but dry conditions, on sunday the heavens opened for the races and turned the deep sand into a very technical track, with tricky bumps and ruts.

On sunday Jerre archieved a decent start just outside the top 10 in race one. He came through in the first lap in 12th position, found the right rythem on the technical track and ended in 8th the race.

In the second race he passed the chicane after the start in the top 10. Jerre rounded the first lap in eight position. The whole race he fought hard on his privateer SR Honda Motoblouz and surrounded by the factory bikes he could ride to a brilliant sixth place what was enough for a fift place overall in the GP and made a jump from 17th to 10th in the world championship standing.

The FIM Motocross World Championship now has a weekend off, before the riders head to South America and the picturesque region of Patagonia, Argentina where the third race of the championship will take place at the Villa La Angostura track on 21-22 March.

Jeremy: “First top 5 in the books ! Track was not easy but 2 solid moto’s for 5th overall ! Happy with the step we made but still work to do ! On to the next one ! “
